The community is an Alaskan native cultural hotspot with numerous galleries displaying native handicraft and artwork as well as numerous displays of totem poles at places such as Saxman Village, the Totem Heritage Center, Totem Bight State Historic Site and the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center. You might also enjoy hiking miles of hiking trails surrounding the town and kayaking, canoeing or taking a ferry ride to view spectacular scenery as well as marine life such as sea lions and whales.
